East Coast U.S. service upgraded once again! ONE has optimized the EC3 route network, further bolstering supply chain resilience between North China and the U.S. East Coast.

Ocean Network Express (ONE) recently announced an upgrade and adjustment to its EC3 service on the U.S. East Coast, aimed at further optimizing its route network, enhancing schedule reliability, and improving overall operational efficiency. Following the update, the service will continue to call at ports in North China, including Tianjin New Port, and will operate according to a revised port sequence.
The Xingang Line connects multiple regional ports, with a loop design that ensures broad coverage.
The revised port rotation is as follows: Tianjin Xingang—Qingdao—Busan—Ningbo—Laem Chabang—Cai Mep—Singapore—Colombo—(via the Cape of Good Hope)—New York—Jacksonville—Savannah—Charleston—Manzanillo—(via the Panama Canal)—Tianjin Xingang.
This route operates as a loop, connecting North China, Southeast Asia, the U.S. East Coast, and the Caribbean. Building on its existing network that includes key North Chinese ports such as Tianjin Port and Qingdao Port, the new service adds calls at several major terminals, including Laem Chabang in Thailand, Cai Mep in Vietnam, Colombo in Sri Lanka, and Jacksonville in the United States, thereby linking the three major markets of Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, and the U.S. East Coast. By offering bidirectional east–west services—via both the Cape of Good Hope and the Panama Canal—the new route forms a closed loop, significantly enhancing its operational resilience in the face of geopolitical risks and unforeseen disruptions.
Shipment schedule reliability has been further enhanced, and bidirectional east–west routes have been strengthened to bolster resilience.
The New Port Schedule has been officially implemented starting with the 0010W/0011E voyage of the vessel “HMM PERIDOT,” which is expected to berth at Tianjin New Port on September 11. The HMM PERIDOT is a container ship operated by HMM and serves this route under the space‑sharing cooperation framework between ONE and HMM.
Notably, following the port rotation adjustment, the original call sequence from Savannah to New York to Charleston has been reconfigured, with New York now designated as the first port of call, followed by Jacksonville, Savannah, and Charleston. As the largest container port on the U.S. East Coast, New York serves as the central gateway to the Northeast’s consumer market, and prioritizing it as the first stop helps accelerate delivery times to key markets in the region. Meanwhile, Savannah and Charleston provide extensive coverage of the U.S. Southeast’s inland markets, benefiting a broad catchment area stretching from the Appalachian Mountains to Florida. This adjustment underscores the shipping line’s ability to precisely address the differentiated demand across the various sub‑markets along the U.S. East Coast.
Optimizing the service layout to align with market demand, the North China direct‑dial service has been retained.
This upgrade is a key step in ONE’s ongoing effort to optimize its Asia–East Coast of the U.S. service network. By maintaining direct calls to ports in North China and integrating major ports across Southeast Asia and the U.S. East Coast, the route will offer shippers more reliable weekly sailings. For exporters in North China, the continued direct services to Tianjin New Port and Qingdao mean they can reach the U.S. East Coast market without transshipment through other ports, helping to shorten transit times and enhance supply-chain predictability.
Against the backdrop of intensifying competition on trans-Pacific routes, ONE has enhanced its logistics offerings with a loop‑based routing and bidirectional service design on the EC3 route, providing customers with greater resilience and flexibility while injecting fresh momentum into trade between China, the United States, and Southeast Asia.
